I am a public school educator -- over 35 years mostly teaching -- with some administrative duties. Most of my experience is at the elementary level, but have been at the secondary at both the high school level and at the middle school level in recent years.
Currently, I am in my third year of teaching GED to adult students in a state prison.
I have taught in suburban schools, community school with high migrant population, a rural logging school, and even a year out on the Alaskan tundra toward the end of the Iditarod trail in a Native Alaskan (Inupiak and Yupik Eskimo) village of 150 people. I also took time off to go to South America as a Peace Corps volunteer, and a summer as an intern in Congress.
